If there is talk of a girls weekend, I will always find a way to be there. Those are trips of a lifetime that can't be missed. So when it came up to go to Charleston for the weekend, I immediately bought my plane ticket. As I sit bundled up by the fire in Denver, I am dreaming of the sand in my toes and shopping on historic King Street. King's Street is one of the main attractions in Charleston. Spend an afternoon wandering in and out of the shops and marvel at the beautiful row houses.
After shopping all day, your going to need a snack. Stop in at Jeni's ice cream shop right along King Street, trust me, you won't regret it. It is an adorable shop with the most delicious and creative flavors of ice cream that I've ever had. Lemon & blueberries buttermilk frozen yogurt, sounds like heaven right? But if that's not enough...wildberry lavender ice cream, milkiest chocolate, and their roasted strawberry buttermilk ice cream was to die for.
For a nice dinner, reserve a table at Grill 225. It has a very nice setting with a great wine list!
Since your on the coast, might as well get your fill of seafood! Head to Fleet Landing restaurant, one of the only restaurants that has waterfront property and great seafood options!
Head to town and grab a burger at Poe's Tavern! All things Edgar Allen Poe is sure to be a memorable restaurant that you can't miss!
My all time favorite part of Charleston? Touring the grand plantation homes that house so much history. It's a brilliant way to see how homes were built in the past, learn about slavery and how the South has evolved. All of the plantations make up truly incredible property that will have you planning your dream home to look just like it!
We can't forget about the beach! Our rental home was along Folly Beach and I highly recommend it. This beach wasn't too crowded and made for the perfect, relaxing day listening to the waves crashing along the shore. Grab your H&K bikini and hit the beach with your girls in the Barcelona ruffle bikini top and Madrid moderate bikini bottom.
Now you are ready to text your girls and book a flight to Charleston! It is one of my favorite weekend getaways. Add it to your list jetsetters!
