Austin has shot up the ranks as a top getaway destination and I can see why! If you are looking for spring break plans or planning a bachelorette weekend, then listen up! I'm sharing my itinerary for the best girls weekend!
I highly recommend this boutique hotel in the new Domain shopping area. The hotel's decor is amazing, the pool area had everything, and their customer service was top notch. If you are going to a nearby restaurant or bar, their staff will gladly chauffeur you and pick you up in a black escalade. If you need to run an errand, they will run to the store for you for free. The hotel was the perfect setting for our girls weekend.
Start off the weekend poolside at the hotel, drinking cocktails with your girls before dinner. For our first night out, we headed to Rainey Street, the new, trendy area where the older crowd (people out of college) tends to hang out. We ate dinner and reserved a table at Geraldines to listen to their live music which starts at 10pm. Geraldines is part of the Van Zandt hotel, another great place to stay for the weekend. Afterwards, we hit up some of the bars around Rainey Street and, of course, we had to get our pic in front of the "I hate you" wall.
One of my all time favorite brunch places: Jacobys.
The food, décor, and outside patio were all amazing. The huge Texas flag on the wall behind us made it even better (I am Texan after all). From the fench toast to the biscuits & gravy, it was heaven. Plus, they have Stumptown coffee which is my favorite coffee of all time! The restaurant has a little shop in the front and sits on the lake. It doesn't get any better than that!

In the Texas heat, head straight to Lake Austin for stand-up paddle boarding! It is a gorgeous lake area in the heart of Austin surrounded by trees and running paths. The lake was bustling about with kayas, canoes and paddle boards. I would be there every weekend if I lived there. Especially since the weather said it felt like 107 out!
The sporty look of the Malibu bikini top and Belize bottoms were perfect for SUP!
From there, we went to Barton Springs Greenbelt & Pool area. The line for the pool is always soo long so we opted for walking down the river a bit to relax in the cool water. We made some sparking white wine sangria beforehand and it was delicious!
We were going to hit up 6th street for a taste of the usual 6th festivities but instead we opted for playing Cards of Humanity poolside at the hotel while sipping wine. It made for a perfect night. We were able to chat and enjoy each other's company instead of screaming at a bar. All of my best friends live thousands of miles away so I loved spending a night with just them playing games.
We escaped the Asutin bustle and headed to Fredericksburg for the day! We hired a shuttle from Tour Texas Wine to take us around the wineries in Fredericksburg. Our bus driver was great and they recommended wineries based off the type of wine we like and what we were looking for. It was a blast! I even got to pick up some bottles of wine with my name on it from Brennan's Vineyards!
After a long day in the sun and drinking wine, we turned on some Legally Blonde and had a girls night in before we all headed back home the next day.
I definitely see why Austin is such a popular city! There was so much to do that we could have stayed longer. I plan on going back soon for another girl's trip! Thanks Austin.
